Discipleship School

A pioneering community that exists to raise up wholehearted disciples of Jesus

Rooted:Discipleship School

The Rooted Discipleship School is an opportunity to set aside a week with God and learn, in community, to go deeper in your relationship with Him.

Our aim as a team is to create a culture of family where we can be completely ourselves and step more fully into the freedom Jesus won for us on the cross. We want to learn together different ways of connecting with God so that we can grow in our love for and dependence on Him. We also want to look at topics and discover tools that will help us follow Jesus whole-heartedly over the long haul.

The Discipleship School will have a particular focus on the heart journey. Our plan is to limit numbers to approx 20 delegates so that everyone feels safe to be seen and

known and we can build trust together. If you sign up

to this adventure we will be encouraging you to say

yes to vulnerability, courage and raw discipleship.

Over the course of the week we'll spend time worshipping Jesus — together and on our own. We'll look at God's word and unpack core Kingdom foundations. We'll also prioritise welcoming and responding to God's manifest presence. Ultimately we want to meet with Him and hear His voice.

The school will also include quality connection time centred around food! Lots of Jesus' discipleship happened in the everyday and it often involved meals. We want to learn, as we eat together, how to ask great questions and do real life with each other. We also want to have rest times and opportunities for chilled socialising and fun.

If you're interested in being part of our pilot school simply click on the Apply Now button and fill out the application form. One of our team will then be in touch with you for an informal interview. We really can't wait to see what God will do in and through us as we set aside this week for Him. We're sure it will be abundantly more than all we ask or imagine.

With much love,

- Wendy & team

  • Where is the week taking place and how do I get there?
At King's Arms Church Blunham - High Street, Blunham, Bedford, MK44 3NN (Blunham is in a village about 20mins outside Bedford). If you want to come by train, be aware of needing to sort out transport to get to Blunham. If transport is an issue for you we can try and put you in touch with others travelling from your area to see if they have space in their car. If you’re applying for the week and you’re willing and able to offer a lift to others, please let us know.
  • What time do we arrive on the 13th July and what time does the school finish on the 20th?
You are invited to arrive at 12pm on the 13th. We will have lunch altogether at 12.30pm before we kick the week off. We will finish at 12.30pm on Saturday 20th after sharing stories from the week and celebrating all that God has done. Lunch won't be provided.
  • How will accommodation work?
There are two options for accommodation for the week: 1) You can find your own accommodation. If you choose this option you will pay less to do the school. 2) We can try and find accommodation for you – either with people in Blunham, the surrounding villages or in Bedford. If you choose this option your place on the school will cost £75 more. This money will be given to your hosts to contribute towards your stay. Please note: We can't guarantee that we'll be able to find you a place to stay. We will allocate accommodation on a first come first-served basis. If you stay outside the village you'll need the use of a car. It might be that you'll end up having to sort out accommodation for yourself.
  • What is the cost and can I pay in instalments?
We have two ticket options: - Without accommodation - £200 - With accommodation - £275* *Accommodation can't be guaranteed. If we're unable to find you accommodation we'll refund you the £75 Can I pay for my ticket in instalments? Yes! If you are successful in getting a place on the school we ask that you pay a £50 non-refundable deposit to secure your place, within 7 days of your acceptance. The rest of your ticket balance can then be paid in full or in instalments. Please make a plan with the Rooted team as to how you’d like to do this. Your place must be paid for in full by June 17th 2024. Can I sponsor someone's place? Absolutely - just get in touch by emailing wendymannequip@gmail.com and reference the Rooted Discipleship School.
  • Am I able to come for just some of the week?
Not this time, sorry. We're really keen for those who attend our pilot Discipleship School to commit to the whole time.
  • How will food work?
We are planning on catering for the week – please pray for us ;) The current plan is to have breakfast, lunch and dinner together at the venue - apart from dinner on Thursday eve when you'll have a free evening to go out and have some downtime. We really want our meal times to be key moments of connection and deeper discipleship. This plan might change slightly as we sort out more details, but we'll keep you posted if that's the case.
  • Will the week cater for different dietary requirements?
Yes! All dietary requirements can be catered for. We will ask for these details from you when you fill out your application form.
  • Can we bring children?
Sadly we're not able to cater for children at our Discipleship school.
  • Can you give us a rough idea of the schedule for the week?
We are still working out the schedule and asking God about the content for the week. We will aim to have approximately 3 sessions per day and will do a mixture of worship, encounter with God, teaching, group discussion and activations. We will also book in down time and lots of breaks so that we have time to digest and reflect on what God is saying to us and doing in us.
  • Do you have a refund policy?
Yes indeed. The £50 deposit you pay to secure your place is non-refundable. However, we are able to refund all other monies in full, up until and including 17th June. If after this date you're no longer able to attend the Rooted Discipleship School, please get in touch with us asap. We won't be able to guarantee a full refund, but we will do what we can to reimburse some money to you. It might also be possible for you to transfer your place to someone on a waiting list and, therefore, have all money returned.
