If you've seen my last few blog posts you'll know that God has been speaking to me about championing and investing in Christians in their 20's and early 30's. I'm so grateful to Loren, Matt, Maddy, Ola, Tim, Malcolm and Charlotte for their wisdom and insight and for sharing their hearts.
I'm pretty sure God has put this age group on my heart because it was when I was in my 20's that people really got hold of me. I was encouraged, discipled and given opportunities to have a go at some of the things God had called me to. It was such an informative time in my life and there were so many opportunities to learn and grow.
I feel so excited about the prospect of giving back and seeing young believers thrive in their walks with God.
In response to what God's been speaking to me about we're putting on a weekend away early next year, which we're calling Rooted. The heart behind the weekend is to gather Christians aged 18-35 who are hungry for more of God, so that we can encounter Him together and be changed as He speaks.
One of the things I've missed most this past year has been the opportunity to do face to face ministry. I have seen God do incredible things over zoom, but there's nothing that beats setting aside time for God where we can gather together and be led by His agenda. I am so expectant of many life-defining moments over the Rooted weekend that will shape us in our relationships with Him.
The truth is that what flows through us is directly related to what we allow God to do in us
We've called the weekend Rooted because we want to strengthen and deepen our roots in God.
We want to be increasingly rooted in the love of God and to know Him as our good Father.
We want the truth of our identity as sons and daughters to go deeper, so that we enjoy greater security in Him.
We want to step with increased confidence into God's unique and significant call on our lives.
We'll worship, leave space to hear from God, have teaching and time for group discussion. We also want to create space to connect with each other and build lasting friendships. I can't wait to see what the Father has in store.
